At Promptly Health, our impact starts with people — and our sales team plays a key role in turning vision into value across Europe and beyond. In this edition of our Sales Team Spotlight Series, we’re excited to introduce Luís Machado, our Key Account Manager for Portugal.
🚀 What does your role involve?
As a Key Account Manager, I lead strategic relationships with healthcare providers across Portugal. My role is to ensure our digital health solutions deliver tangible outcomes — improving care quality, efficiency, and innovation.
With a background in telecoms and extensive experience working with hospitals and healthcare organizations, I bring a strong operational and strategic lens to the table. I work closely with our technical and delivery teams to make sure real-world data isn’t just collected — it’s put to work to enable smarter, more compassionate care.
💡 What excites you most about working in digital health?
What excites me is the opportunity to contribute to real transformation in how healthcare is delivered and measured. Digital health helps bridge the gap between clinical care and the outcomes that matter most to patients.
It’s a space where innovation meets impact — where data can drive more personalized, proactive, and effective care across the system.
⚙️ What’s a big challenge (or opportunity) you see in your market?
One of the biggest challenges — and also a huge opportunity — is interoperability. Today’s healthcare systems are fragmented, making it difficult to connect and make sense of data across providers, platforms, or even countries.
Solving this is complex, but essential. If we can succeed in creating connected, high-quality, privacy-preserving datasets, we unlock a new era of care: one where patients, clinicians, and researchers all benefit from deeper insights and improved outcomes.
❤️ What makes Promptly’s mission meaningful to you?
What inspires me about Promptly’s mission is its focus on the patient. It’s not just about data or technology — it’s about improving lives through meaningful, outcome-based healthcare decisions.
To me, technology should be a tool for empathy, not just efficiency. Being part of a company that believes in that — and builds for it — is truly rewarding.
🌱 A fun fact or hobby outside of work?
I’m passionate about local politics and believe that civic participation is key to building stronger, fairer communities. Lately, I’ve also been diving into DIY projects — there’s something satisfying about building things from scratch (kind of like data systems, but with a hammer 😄).
